LNG PRODUCTION AND EXPORT FACILITY
Oil, Gas & Chemical
More than 4,500 Standard and Stub Up RED-E-DUCT sections were produced, delivered and installed in record time. The installation contractor realized a significant reduction in the labor required to install and complete the buried conduit system. Precast duct bank was installed and backfilled throughout the project site enabling other work activity to begin earlier than if conventional cast-in-place construction methods would have been used.
PAPER PACKAGING MILL

Using a trench box and a backhoe, the project team installed sixteen conduit joints in a 4High x 4Wide RED-E-DUCT, nearly 160 feet of conduit in full concrete encasement, in less than two minutes. The RED-E-DUCT installation occurred in January with an average daily high temperature of 24oF. If conventional cast in place construction methods would have been used, the underground construction work would have taken much longer to complete and at significant additional expense to the Owner.

Power Generation
RED-E-DUCT assisted the project team with overcoming local craft labor shortages and an aggressive completion schedule. Schedule and cost savings resulting from the use of the precast duct bank exceeded the client’s expectations. Contech was recognized by the contractor as a key contributing supplier and presented an award for exceptional new product and performance.
OIL REFINERY, CA
Oil, Gas & Chemical
Plant equipment retrofits requiring traditional underground duct bank construction significantly disrupt normal facility operation resulting in loss of production and revenue. Chevron and the design/construction team selected RED-E-DUCT to construct duct banks which will significantly reduce the impact of construction on facility operations. Additionally, on-site safe working conditions improve as fewer workers are required with less time required in confined trenches.
730MW COMBINED-CYCLE POWER PLANT, WI
Power Generation
RED-E-DUCT was selected to accelerate underground duct bank construction and project planners were not disappointed. A four-man crew routinely installed 4,000 feet of 4 inch conduit encased in precast concrete in an eight-hour shift. Horizontal and vertical duct bank runs were installed using a combination of RED-E-DUCT Standards and Stub-ups.
ETHANE CRACKER/PETROCHEMICAL FACILITY, TX
Oil, Gas & Chemical
RED-E-DUCT was installed under and alongside site access roads in multiple locations. Precast Duct Bank became an ideal solution where site conditions required managing a high-water table and demanded rapid installation to ensure road closures and site disruptions were kept to an absolute minimum.
CEMENT PRODUCTION FACILITY, SD
INDUSTRIAL
RED-E-DUCT Precast Duct Bank was used in a side-by-side configuration to minimize equipment downtime, enabling the installation crew to complete the project within a tightly defined construction timeline.
MINNESOTA POWER, MN
POWER TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION
Installed directly in front of a bank entrance, RED-E-DUCT was used in place of portions of cast-in-place duct bank to significantly reduce construction time. The speed of installation successfully reduced traffic disruptions and the impact to local businesses.
MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, MT
Government, Military & Municipal
Installation occurred in a single shift to cross the only access road into the military base. Maintaining traffic flow in and out of the facility was of utmost importance with minimal impact to ongoing military operations.
CHEMICAL PLANT, TX
INDUSTRIAL
The chemical plant required a new utility line, designed to run directly under railroad tracks that provide feedstock delivery to the plant. A prolonged installation would force a temporary shut-down of the facility until the work completed. With RED-E-DUCT, the contractor will install the underground duct bank and backfill immediately permitting the facility to quickly resume normal operations. In addition, RED-E-DUCT ability to carry significant loads, permitted the designer to reduce the bury depth by two feet, further reducing construction costs.
EAST NEUSE PUMP STATION, NC
Government, Military & Municipal
Installation of a new utility corridor under the East Neuse River required the installing contractor to construct a temporary damn and re-route the water flow during construction. The design and installation team selected RED-E-DUCT to quickly install and backfill the duct bank which will shorten the number of days required to divert the water flow. In addition to the time savings, project risk was reduced, and safe working conditions improved.
RED ROCK DAM, IA
Government, Military & Municipal
The Contractor awarded the work faced a challenge of installing twin 2High x 2Wide duct bank on an embankment at a 30-degree slope. Selecting and installing RED-E-DUCT significantly reduced the complexity and time required to complete the work. The use of precast duct bank eliminated the need for multiple concrete pours and pumping rigs which would have been required had conventional cast in place construction methods been used.
