SAFETY

Enhanced Job Safety

RED-E-DUCT improves safety by reducing the time and manpower required to complete underground electrical duct infrastructure, reducing or even eliminating the need for concrete form work (including steel form work for stub-ups and other locations), and cutting the time the trench is open. Since no solvents or epoxies are needed when connecting sections of PVC conduit, potential safety issues from harsh vapors are eliminated. (This is especially important in deep trench areas where workers may be required to wear respirators.)

With RED-E-DUCT, there is no need for scaffolding, tie offs or costly form work.  RED-E-DUCT is engineered to “lift and set” in the exact location required with fewer workers working less hours exposed to potential hazards.

RED-E-DUCT improves jobsite safety in several ways:
  • Less time and manpower required on the job means fewer days worked and less chance a jobsite mishap can occur
  • Wood and steel form requirements are significantly reduced. Less chance workers will be cut or injured
  • No steel reinforcement, bending, cutting or placing is required
  • RED-E-DUCT joints do not require solvent welding. No concern over workers exposed to harsh vapors when installations are in confined areas (deep trench)
  • Craft workers do not have to use or stand on ladders or pipe bridges when installing Stub-Ups
  • Trenches may be immediately backfilled reducing open trench hazards
  • Congestion at the work site is reduced
  • No need for construction personnel to spend hours in the trench

Less workers exposed to confined spaces

Backfill when required – Trip hazards are reduced

Power Transmission & Distribution

Duct Bank Installation

Installed in front of a bank entrance, RED-E-DUCT was used in
conjunction with cast-in-place duct bank to significantly reduce
construction time. Speed of installation reduced the impact to
local businesses.

Power Transmission & Distribution

Duct Bank Installation

RED-E-DUCT Precast Duct Bank was utilized to reduce overall site construction time. A crew of four was able to install 60 feet of linear duct bank per hour. Horizontal and vertical runs were installed, including precast Stub-Ups containing rigid galvanized conduits.

Duct Bank for Fiber and Power Cable

RED-E-DUCT Precast Electrical Duct Bank was used to carry fiber and power cables serving a water treatment plant, significantly reducing the time and cost of installation.

Duct Bank Infrastructure Under Access Roads

RED-E-DUCT Precast Duct Banks were installed under and alongside site access roads in multiple locations. RED-E-DUCT became a perfect solution where site conditions required managing a high-water table and rapid installation, ensuring road closures and site disruptions were kept to a minimum.
